What is “Holistic” Conscious Lifestyle Coaching?

Many of us today feel disconnected both from our own hearts and personal power. We find ourselves playing an unending game of tug-of-war while struggling to make positive changes in our lives. It’s a painful experience, and often a frightening one to start a journey toward feeling whole again. Because that means facing and processing a lot of hurt, fear, anger, or any number of emotions and dis-empowering beliefs that keep us paralyzed.
Most of us aren’t even sure what those feelings or thoughts are.
Staying in the dark not only keeps us stagnated, but it can lead to any number of self-destructive behaviors that ultimately affect our health and well-being. For many, that leads to lifestyle habits such as:

When we have difficulty managing our day-to-day behaviors, especially when it pertains to food, many times there is something more than habit going on: Often, it’s an underlying emotional component, driven by any number of elements, including our level of satisfaction with:
  • The health of our social lives and relationships (friends, family, romantic),
  • Fulfillment in our jobs or careers
  • Our environment (home, work, or geographical location),
  • Our finances
  • Opportunities for creativity
  • Quality or amount of spiritual self-care
  • Personal self-development

What is a “Reiki Touch Therapy?”

Reiki is a method of stress reduction that facilitates healing. It was developed in Japan in the early 1900s by Dr. Mikao Usui. Rei in Japanese means “universal,” or “higher knowledge”/”spiritual consciousness” and Ki (also known as chi in China or prana in India) means “life energy.” 
How does it help with lifestyle change? 
Reiki helps:
  • Lower your body’s cortisol production levels
  • Reset the body’s nervous system, including in the gut
  • Helps your body begin to heal out-of-control inflammation
  • Improve mood, thought patterns, and reduce symptoms of anxiety or depression
  • Increase body awareness and mental intuition
  • Provide a safe space for your mind, body and spirit to recover and heal

How does reiki work?
Reiki uses the body’s most natural positive human response to touch, which gently relaxes muscles, clears mental clutter, releases tension, and promotes soothing calm and self-healing. Professionally, reiki is done by a trained reiki master. It is performed using only the Reiki Master’s hands through a simple series of hand placements, touching the client or hovering over the body. Sessions can be either 60 or 90 minutes in length. 

When and where can reiki be done?
A person can be sitting in a chair/wheelchair, laying on a bed, on the floor, in a crowded cafeteria or in a quiet cabin in the woods. Although for complete relaxation, it is recommended that the reiki recipient be in a location they feel safe or at ease and in a position that is comfortable. I provide in-home, or distance-healing (via zoom or other medium) reiki sessions.
