Frequently Asked Questions
What is a personal coach?
What personal coaching IS NOT:
- It is NOT psychotherapy/counseling and should not be used as an alternative to these healing modalities if they are recommended. Therapy or counseling is a healing modality used to help you come to terms with your past, and for support to contain and move out of a crisis situation.
- It is NOT consulting. Consulting is guidance from someone, usually in a specialty, who can advise, encourage, and support you in your day-to-day work and tells you what you need to do to achieve your goals.
What personal coaching IS:
It is about moving you forward from where you are in life to where you want to be. I will never tell you what to do. We will not dwell on your past, but rather honor it, and move toward a more positive direction.
Who benefits from coaching?
Nearly anyone! I specialize in women’s wellness coaching, but anyone ready to take charge of their life and start making themselves and their happiness a priority is welcome to work with me.
Coaching & implementing transformational change
We all have our little hangups, hiccups or roadblocks in life. Often, everyone else’s needs seem to come first, and we are last on our own priority list. But wouldn’t it be a big help to have someone in your corner, giving you the green light and helping you to think outside the box?
Having a personal coach is a lot like having a regular sounding board to bounce ideas off of, or a helping hand to figuratively get your wheels out of the mud and back on your way.
Anything from goal-setting to behavioral change, I can help you assess the skills you have today, and ask you how you want to apply them to get where you’d like to see yourself tomorrow.
You are the architect. As a coach, I simply remind you of the tools you have to work with.
As your holistic wellness coach, my role is to work with you as my client, who may feel stagnated in your life – either emotionally, physically, spiritually, in your career, level of wellness, or personal/professional relationships – and guide you toward making your own goals and taking action that will get you moving forward.
My “coaching couch” is open to anyone – anyone with a goal or a dream in their heart who wants to remove stagnation through empowerment.
We will start with a general life assessment, which covers the gamut of career, social life, personal surroundings, relationships, physical health, career – if it’s a part of your life, we will rate your satisfaction. From there, we identify what you would like to add or subtract, change or get clarification – and magic happens!
How do food habits affect my life?
While our emotional lives need healing and tending to, our physical health often dovetails our emotional health in the quality of our well-being. And holistic nutrition coaching starts you on an exciting road to a transformed lifestyle riddled with self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm in your life.
We realize we need help with the physical realm when we’re unhappy about our weight, we’re tired all of the time, we have trouble sleeping, or health problems we never had before start coming out of the woodwork.
It’s time to start thinking whole-istically. So what is holistic coaching, exactly?
It is addressing your individuality, first and foremost. Everyone is different: From our food cravings to our aversions, whether we crave meat, or could live a completely vegan lifestyle without batting an eye. We all have a different relationship to food, and respond emotionally in countless ways. And everything is connected to our food choices, from our stress level, to our relationships, and happiness with ourselves.
As my client, I commit to addressing your every individual nutritional need, desire, and personal goal.
Remember, I am not a doctor. I am a coach. YOU set the goals. I just can’t wait to help you get there. Besides general counseling and food tutoring, I specialize in working with women on stress/weight management, helping in identifying triggers for emotional/unconscious eating.
